I just wanted to let you know
I finally found the place
where all of the hurt rests underneath
something that is far more worth my while
the pain escaped me
the ocean took in all of my tears
and here I no longer wait
here I can cry sweet mercy
and watch a field drenched in sunlight
I no longer feel that hole in my chest
I walk around without my chains
For once I can just be who I am
