Light House

That old light house
was calling your name,
its' lights reaching out
announcing that my adoration
for your soul has never died.
The dark waves kept
collapsing into the sand,
roaring repeatedly and broadcasting
every time my feelings came back to you.
So many times I thought it would be
easier to drown and seize a painless night.
Try to drown your absence with cherry whiskey
and timeless best friends.
Maybe my pronounced laughter
would create a flood to wash these years away.
But here I remain,
I'm a sailor lost at sea
searching for peace in an unending downpour.
These beams of illumination
go on seeking out your voice
colliding with the midnight sky.
My plea is paraded alongside with the stars,
the moon resting on the coast
waiting for us to unite
under a buoyant guardian tower.

I'm deeply moved by this one. the imagery you invoke with this poem reminds me of "Suzanne" by Leonard Cohen. Excellent display of word choice!

I love the last part. so lovely imagery. You did a great job lady;)
